A stripper-wear designer in Davie, Floriduh has gotten more than 300 free rotisserie chickens in the past year after taking advantage of a store policy guaranteeing that all sales be priced as advertised or removed from the bill.
Janet Feldman, 57, realized that many of the rotisserie chickens the store advertised as weighing two pounds failed to meet the advertised weight.
Feldman gave the meat to homeless cats and dogs at local rescue organizations where she volunteers.
Realizing that the undersized chickens resulted in a de facto overcharge for customers, Feldman decided to put Publix to the test. She drove to 11 Publix stores in Broward County and found 47 chickens that were undersized, all of which she purchased and then received a refund for.
